10.2.3 (or 10.3) waiting :)

Wanting to change things that cannot be changed is the straightest road to unhappiness.

Semantics and jargon do little to enhance the quality of the end product produced by FCP X.

To me, the current nomenclature is easily understood.

Libraries are a collection of Events which are individually a collection of media and Projects for that Event.

It doesn't have to be any more difficult or complicated than that.

Confusion as to Timeline and Sequence? To me that just seems like intentional obfuscation of what is common sense.

I think an update is due, just to keep us occupied for a couple of days, which will then only inevitably lead us back to some more mumbo-jumbo. fcp.co, to be honest is a great break from editing.....

but in any case maybe FCPXI is on its way.... :side:

Last year Apple released an FCPX update the Sunday of NAB Show 2015. If they repeat that, and I have no knowledge of this at all, just guessing, we could see something this coming Sunday (while I'm on the plane to NAB and would miss it all, late to the party again). Keeping my fingers crossed, but not holding my breath.

It is that Sunday..NAB Sunday, will Apple be making a presentation of sorts at NAB?? Will be watching my twitter for any breaking news...

Apple will do 2 presentations: one on Monday and one on Tuesday.

Wether or not they will say anything about the coming update or not, no-one knows. And if they do give a little preview of what's coming, the presentation will be under NDA and no-one will publish anything about it. The update will come when it's ready, and no-one knows when this will be.

I'll be there for both presentations. If they don't make the audience sign a verbal NDA, I'll report back here (as I'm sure others going will also). I have a feeling that it will just be some workflow or recap case studies...

Any Apple presentation implies a verbal NDA. But if they do show something, you will be allowed to say that what you saw was "amazing"

Sad trivia: Las Vegas Monday starts when 'my' Monday is almost gone...

Last year they released the new version Sunday that starts NAB Show, which would be today.

The main reason Apple makes the audience agree to NDA is because they use footage from unreleased and unannounced productions. But they've never really shown anything "new" or groundbreaking that is soon-to-be-released in FCPX. Maybe a tiny thing here or there.

I'll be there both days. Wednesday I'll be visiting the plugin developers and hanging out at the Drone Village (yeah, I do a lot of drone shooting). Also, I'll be helping Coremelt out with their table at Supermeet. I won't be attending the big stage presentation there, cause there's nothing on the roster that grabs me. But I'll be there to eat, drink, see old friends, meet new ones, help out Coremelt.

Hope to see some of you there!

And if there's no update today, maybe Tuesday, maybe, well, it's all just speculation...

In the mean time, here's the FCPX Exchange itinerary, for anyone interested. I'll be attending pretty much all of them. Apple is titling their seminars "Final Cut Pro X Workflows" for both days. That's anyone's guess...

That is what I thought, thanks Ben, I was sure it was a strange day to release, on a weekend. Like Karsten, 10am is late in the day here, just checked the US App store, no updates!

I am expecting any public non NDA to be at the Supermeet on Wednesday night, early Thursday morning my time, I am not expecting any updates before Wednesday night Las Vegas time!

No, the agenda is posted. Only Alexis Hurkman is not giving details. But everyone presenting, and what, is listed. Promotional hype, Apple won't be there.

MAJOR NEW VERSION!

Ok, so I got here late thanks to traffic. And a fire. And the monorail broke down. BUT, everyone has signed an NDA from Apple. The reason is? Major new release coming.

I'm going to be here tomorrow to actually see the event. I'll sign an NDA and won't be able to say anything. All I can say now is I hear people clapping inside. It's packed. No more room and people are waiting with sad faces outside.
