Nope they may be using an earlier version for esthetics. We trainers do that. Apple strictly forbids using unreleased versions from being shown in any way publicly. Ripple would be dropped from the beta testing program in the blink of an eye if they did so. That is a simple fact. Any one who has participated in the Apple Seed program will verify that. You're reading way too much in to things. I think it is common sense that bug will be fixed in the next update.

I know Ripple Training gets access to new versions of FCP early (so they can provide training for it). Hopefully, this means the new version is close around the corner. :cheer:

The lines aren't there but if you look again closely, you'll see that the markers underneath for hours, minutes, seconds and frames are still off. So I think they're using a current version of FCPX, not anything unreleased.

The lines are intermittent. The caption offset is there for everyone. Neither the caption offset nor the lines appear in Yosemite.

I find it odd that Apple didn't at least push out an interim update to fix that timecode window bug.

A huge from what I heard update to Logic, yet nothing, not even a font update for FCPX. All we can do is wait, if Ripple know anything, it must be killing them to stay mute, of course their business depends on total secrecy, yet that does not jive with me.

Apple is all bout public beta, yet for the 2 apps that mean nothing to Apple financially, this product has been paid for many times over, if it is 2 or 3 million seats sold, that is nearly 1/2 a billion Dollars, along with that you need new gear, so close to if not over $1b for Apple and nothing in return!!!

Why is Logic so special and FCPX the ugly step-daughter??

If, (and that's a big if) Apple is planing on announcing a new mac pro in march, they may be waiting to release a version of FCPX optimized for that.

It would be a pretty easy fix, just duplicate the clip, mask off the area and move the duplicate layer up or down by one pixel

I'd prefer to think that the UI glitch hasn't been fixed because the engineers are focussed on bigger things for FCPX.

It's unusual that they've left fixing the glitch this long but let's face it, it's not the end of the world. I can't imagine there's this long line of people going "I just can't edit in this thing - the text in the timecode panel doesn't line up!". Oh wait, this is the internet - so there probably is...

Release an update to only fix a cosmetic glitch that does nothing to hinder anyone working? Seriously?

Mac Pro tube is great. Tons of cables? No more than my old MP had.

I agree with the first statement, and strongly agree with the second statement. This is certainly the best computer I've ever owned...

...and all of the many computers I've ever owned have had cables...

What I find interesting with that glitch:
'Same' display in Motion doesn't have issues.

You should think, that's some tiny piece of code used copy/paste in both apps identically…

obviously not so

I also noticed in the latest ripple training that the audio meters on the left have a black background.
What's up with that? :)

May be the same tiny piece of code, but in a very different application. All code interacts with other code, none of it is isolated. So what works in one app, may have a glitch in another app, due to all the other code it has to interact with.

Audio meters look fine to me.

I agree, the Ripple audio meter in MacBreak Studio Ep 345: Slipping Audio without Detaching it, has a very black background, where in FCP 10.2.2, the latest release, it is all uniform grey...
Great spot, a clear marked difference, and not normal!!

The photo on the left, first, is from macbreak, the meter background is black, on the right, second is from my version, it is grey!

Screen capture yours, Justine, compress it to H.264 for web, upload it to YT, and see if the colors remain the same.

Let's take this as far as we can:
1 - there is no line glitch in the Dashboard
2 - audio meters are way too dark
3 - the timeline is way too light
4 - timeline clip colors are lighter and more pronounced

None of which could EVER be caused by compression, recompression, and web uploads...

I mean, look at my screen captures, NONE of these shades match! It's a CONSPIRACY!!!!!!
