Missing title plugin 12 May 2015 17:49 #64384

Hello,
I have received a project and one plugin is missing (I get the red window with the big "T" and "!" mark.
How do I know which plugin it is???

It's a ever lasting question.

Try to get an XML of the project.
Open in TextWrangler (cause it diplays the formatting better than other text editors).
Look for "<effect" at the top part of the XML, all are listed by name and installation path.

Another option is to use my X-FX Handler www.spherico.com/filmtools/X-Files/X-FXH...er/XFX%20Install.dmg

Thanks Andreas,
I exported a XML and then used you XFX Handler. Really helpful.
I wonder why FCPX doesn't prompt you when it loads a project and doesn't find a plugin. It seems like such a basic feature...
Thank you again

seems like latest FCPX upgrade broke XFX, it does not work anymore :-(

XFX was EOL with Mojave.
It's not related to the FCP version. XML 1.9 will work fine with the app - but the app needs an OS version prior to Mojave.

not really I used it under Catalina, came up with an error initially but did work, now it won't load a XML anymore.

That was just good luck.
Regarding FX nothing had changed with XML.

You may try my X-Library Check. No need for XML.
This mini-app searches a library (.fcpbundle) for all fonts and external motion templates, lists them and warns if something is missing.
Application usage: Use Menu / Button to open a Library or drag Library to the App's Icon and wait a bit. The result/report is saved as "Library Name" & "-check.text" at the Finder level of the library.

that would be great where can I find it?

I tried to use the link on your web site but it comes up with an error

Not Found

The requested URL was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
