An odd Youtube video posted by Simon Ubsdell led us to this great three part Apple Motion tutorial.
We have to admit to spending a good deal of time on YouTube. What was once considered just a home for cat videos, is now the visual learning library for the world. If you need to know how do or fix something, then there's normally a bunch of relevant videos already published that can help.
So when we saw a video from Simon this morning, we naturally thought it was another of his great tutorials. Not so, it was an explainer about his experiences of monetisation on YouTube and how it doesn't really reflect the effort involved in making his excellent content.
That's why he has chosen to start a Patreon campaign to help fund making the tutorials. You can understand why, an average YouTube viewer looks at over 200 different channels per month, so there's a lot of content out there wanting your eyeballs.
However, browsing his channel, we did notice this excellent three-part series on building a steampunk door opening. These tutorials completely bypassed our daily dose of YouTube suggestions, so make your own mind up about the algorithms they use!
Grab a large coffee and enjoy all three videos! Whilst you are at it, we're sure he would also appreciate a like and a subscription. It all helps.
