Larry might have been top billing, but there were some great demos on stage before his. In this post we have two presentations about software that complements Final Cut Pro X: DaVinci Resolve 10 and Autodesk Smoke.
The recent Amsterdam SuperMeet had a great lineup of presenters and presentations. It was good to see that the organisers Michael Horton and Dan Bérubé had really thought about getting quality demos and these two are exactly that.
In the first video, London based filmmaker and director James Tonkin shows the audience Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve 10. He majors on the Blackmagic Pocket & Cinema Camera footage within Resolve.
Next up is Alexis Van Hurkman. Not using his colour grading skills to demonstrate Resolve, but this time he's on Autodesk's Smoke. He goes behind the scene on 'The Place Where You Live' a short effects driven film.
'Learn how Alexis used Smoke's editorial and visual effects capabilities together to hone the narrative and work with a group of international compositing artists. Alexis will share details of the production and post-production workflows he used for the film, and how he brought the project to life using Autodesk Smoke.'
As always many thanks to Michael and Dan for lining up such great presenters. We must mention Rick Young and Dean Cleary for doing the camerawork too.
Watch this space for the remaining presentations from the night to be posted soon.
