Keyed video, transition shuts off background images...

I have my keyed image and background set up and looks great, but when I put a fade or transition on foreground, background goes blank. Any ideas?

Many transitions don't work on secondary storylines.

I suggest you combine the foreground and background into a compound clip and apply the transition to that.

Thanks, switched to "Alpha add" in composition panel and can now control fade of foreground and background separately.

I figured that out trying to compound the clips, so, thanks again.

Do you know how to change clip duration, (speed) beyond the 10, 25 and 50% options?

To use speeds other than the ones in the retime menus, first choose one to slow down your clip, and drag the retiming handle at the end of the orange bar to the left or right:

Thanks again, I was unable to re-create my Alpha Add solution and like being able to fade at different rates, but compounding clips works fine anyway. You've been a big help to one of many who seem to be struggling with the X transition. All the best, Mark.
