How to customize a template? was created by paulthomas
Hi guys!
Just saying I'm a newbie out here so don’t be tough on me. So, I wonder if it’s possible to customize a template? Or I have to create a template on my own to get exactly what I want? Thank you for your time in reading and responding to my question.
Hope to learn lots!

Yes. For the most part you'll need Apple Motion and a template that's not locked. There's a MOTION section here you should browse through to get an idea of what's involved or wade through tutorials on YouTube. Don't be surprised if you, as someone first getting their hands around how Motion operates, spend hours if not DAYS futzing with things only to decide the template is good enough as is.
(Put yourself in the position of the client... Would they be comfortable paying $250 editing time for an effect that may be 10 to 20% better / more appropriate that'll only be on the screen for maybe six seconds or would they cross out that item on the final bill stating it didn't add that much value to the film and no one would miss it if it were cut? I may do so for my own stuff but expecting a client to spring for my 'creative vision' may get contentious on the billing end of things.)
