Parks and Re-Creation is a template for Motion or FCP X that pays homage to the original full length television intro. It features 32 drop zones and 9 changeable texts. The text background color can be universally changed as well. It can be installed in Motion or FCP X. Both versions are identical in look and function.
The installer for the free FCP X template Parks and Re-Creation has been updated. In the past there was some trouble installing in Motion after version 5.3.x was released. And this has been so popular I've fielded a few emails about installing it in FCP X as well because so many don't have a Generators.localized folder because either it's their first FCPX generator or they don't have Motion installed. But no matter, all has been resolved with a new developer certified package installer. Just double click and follow the instructions. It'll install into the Compositions area of Motion's project browser or the Generators folder in FCP X with ease now. Download here
or log into your BretFX account and re download from your "downloads" area.
Side note, there are a LOT of drop zones in this template. FCP X doesn't do well with syncing drop zones unless it's the first one in the template. It's a long standing bug (or a poor development choice) but my friend Deyson Ortiz of Motion Master Templates put together a nice video about how to work around the issue. If you're using it in Motion (preferred) it's much easier to deal with drop zones. But if you're using it in FCPX, then Deyson's video on the subject is a must see...
Thanks Bert! I hope you can learn from it, although it's not particularly complicated. It really works best in Motion due to all the drop zones. FCPX 's current implementation of drop zones is so screwy it was assumed to be a bug, but it's been years now since it either got buggy or they just decided to change the way it worked. I believe in the instructions are some links to Deyson Ortiz' tutorial on how to effectively use drop zones via compound clips and such. Enjoy and have fun with it! -Bret
