I figured I'd add a few more controls for the animation if there was enough interest in this template - you never quite know what will catch on ;-)

Very nice! Love it! I have one request, though. Can we get the "glowing" diamond shapes in the background to change opacity at different rates, rather than all together?

And now with a complete set of controls for the incoming and outgoing animations, plus, for Ben, a bit more variation in the opacity timings for the faint blank squares:

This particular effect goes in the EFECTS folder.

The general rule of thumb is as follows:
Open the folder and look at the motion document.
MOTI = title
MOTR = transition
MOEF = effect
MOTN = generator.

There are some few exceptions to this.

Double click the downloaded file (the zip archive) - this will open up a folder called TKY Diamonds 1.2. Inside that you will find a folder called TKY Diamonds. Drag that to your User/Movies/Motion Templates/Effects folder, and you're good to go.
