NEW Chromatic Abberation Effect 05 Jun 2012 20:27 #9283
Hi everyone,
I have created an effect that simulates chromatic aberration. It has two types of color shift. One is the normal aberration where the red, green and blue channels are scaled differently. The result is more color fringing towards the edges of the frame. The other type is a position shift in the red, green and blue channels. Furthermore you can add a wriggle to the RGB Offset and set both the frequency and noisiness. There is a pop up where you can set the type of edge blur (None, Radial, Variable or Both), you can set the amount of the Radial and Variable Blur. If you have a clip that is in color but you want to make it Black and White while retaining the aberration effect where Red Green and Blue are misaligned, there is a checkbox to make it Black and White. Simply lowering the saturation in the Color Board wouldn't work because this renders everything in shades of grey. To install the effect, unzip and drop the folder RJ-Chromatic Abberation in Home>Movies>Motion Templates>Effects (you can make a subfolder here to keep things more organized, just give it an appropriate name). Hi everyone,
I have created an effect (download it from the link in the start of this topic) that simulates chromatic aberration.
