'13 MP with BMD UltrasSudio Mini Monitor

I'm using this combo, and it gives me fits. I have to leave it unconnected for a successful boot, otherwise I get a gray screen and boot freezes. Once booted, I connect it, and in FCPX, audio plays choppy and static y and cuts in and out. Plus, when connected, most of my FCPX and OS X keyboard shortcuts don't work, or don't work properly. OS X 10.9.2, dual D700s. Anyone else seeing issues with this device?

Have you updated to BMD driver 10.0? It was just released a few days ago.

Yes, just installed a couple of hours ago to be sure. All sorts of menu and audio and keyboard problems. Have reported it to BMD, just wondering what other users are experiencing.

Could try uninstalling the driver and regressing to 9.9.3 just in case their update introduced something.

Just for yucks, can you make sure the MiniMonitor is on its own Thunderbolt Controller (not part of a pair where the other port might be in use).

I have almost the exact same rig. 6-core, D700s, MiniMonitor.

When migrating from my 2012 iMac, honestly, I didn't really migrate. Kinda started fresh, only copying over just what I needed because I've always had bad luck with unexplained weirdness when I start copying prefs over.

This is a fresh install.

Oh wow. The whole won't boot unless unplugged thing points to hardware then? (even maybe the thunderbolt cable?)

Not necessarily. There is BMD software that is not loading with it is unplugged. I have a support request in to BMD. Going to find out what their support is like, I guess. BTW, this same unit works great on my 2013 15" rMBP.
