I certainly hope you get yours in February but there is no way I will get mine that was ordered 28. December. If I am optimistic I will get mine in the end of March but I would rather guess sometimes this summer.
What does your order status "say"? If that is still february I would expect it to be february. That the shipping dates online have shifted to march is to be expected, all this time people are still ordering them online. At a certain number of orders shipping dates will shift to following months.
I ordered mine from the Apple reseller in Iceland and they have not heard a word yet from Apple. We have no Apple Store in Iceland. So I am very pessimistic. Island with 300.000 inhabitants are not a priority I would guess.
The almost unthinkable has happened. My Apple reseller contacted me yesterday and told me that my Mac Pro will arrive next week. The first one ever to be delivered to Iceland. So my waiting is over. And of course I am very exited. Thanks Apple.
If you want one in reasonable time, the Pro Apple dealers in Los Angeles generally have stock.
4 core stock, 6-core stock, 8 core, 12 core, all manner of BTO options, between all the pro dealers there's a pretty good selection. I managed to get really close to the BTO choices I really wanted (I had to settle for a 1TB SSD rather than 256 or 512. So difficult).
It might be safe to say that the shortage in other parts of the county is due to Apple getting units to the retailers in Los Angeles that sell to the pros. I'd make some calls, worked for me.
Mine has left United States, 7 days ago. So it is almost in my hands, according to my Apple reseller. I have been using my Mac Pro since 2006. Now I am stuck in Lion and FCP 10.0.9. So I do not want to wait any longer.
