What happens to Logic Pro 9 (if already installed)? Do I get to keep it??

What about all the accumulated Apple Loops - will they get bashed?

Are the new Loops different than the old loops or is downloading the extra 35GB additional content a duplication? Or an overwrite? How much is different, if any?

I use a lot of Native Instruments software synths: Absynth 5, FM8, Retro Machines, Razor, Prism, Skanner XT, ... are they compatible?

If I don't really need Drummer, or the notation - is there really any other major selling point to make this a "must have" upgrade?

You get to keep Logic 9. They have different names in the app folder, so no problem.

From what I can see (and I've downloaded all the additional content), it looks like all the Logic Pro X stuff went into the main Library/Application Support/Logic folder, whereas all my Logic 9 stuff is in the user/Library.....

Anything that's 64bit will work. (so no Sylenth among others) I think everything NI is 64bit.

There's soooooo much new stuff, tons big and small. It's like FCPX almost, once you get used to the new stuff you won't want to go back. One of the many things is that now you can export audio to Quicktime no problem (it's only 64bit now) among the many other things. Great writeup here:

That's good news... I suspected as much, but I wish the information about legacy LP9/Studio would have been easily available (guess it was a bigger deal for FCP users.)

I found the Effects manual (manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/logic_pro_x_effects.pdf) and it's looking like the "must have" feature is the MIDI effects scripter!
