Interesting marketing oddity for Apple. Called Logic Pro 9 on their website but Logic Pro X in the App Store and version is 10.0.0. Seems the website hasn't been updated.

Also worth noting is that LPX is a new purchase.

People have debated whether Apple would introduce upgrades regarding FCPX when the time comes but it does seem Apple is going to stick with new purchase price with new full versions based on what they've done with LPX.

Also interesting to note that it requires the current OSX 10.8.4.
Apple is certainly pushing people to upgrade their OS if it's not current.

Leo, wouldn't that be available in Lion and previous versions of Mountain Lion or are there changes in AVFoundation in 10.8.4?

In relation to FCPX, I'm thinking in the next upgrade Apple will be dropping older OS support. I certainly think 10.6.8 support will go (lack of AVF in the OS) but it would be interesting if Apple required 10.8.4 and up for that.

FCP X integration seems incredibly tight and amazingly useful:

Now if only they'll do the same for Motion - this could be a good sign, who knows?

Great news anyway :)

This is a great start to a hopefully packed fall for Pro software and hardware updates.

I'm excited - but I notice on the site the only mention of integration back to FCPX is "And the Media Browser lets you seamlessly move Logic Pro X assets to Final Cut Pro X or other Apple apps" which makes me...hmm forget it. The download is only 7 minutes remaining. I'll see for myself ;)
