I'm interested in the top-of-the-line 21.5" iMac or the top-of-the-line 15" Retina Macbook Pro.

21.5" iMac:
3.1GHz i7 Turbo Boost upto 3.9GHz
16GB RAM

15" Retina Macbook Pro:
2.3GHz i7 Turbo Boost upto 3.8GHz
16GB RAM

Both would be using a SSD and I am not sure which graphics card is in either computer.

I will be using FCP X, Resolve, Motion, After Effects, Compressor and only working with Full HD material.

The macbook is about $700 more, but it seems like the benchmark on the iMac would be better.

Thoughts?

Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your reply.

I usually work on small projects (online content) and when one video is done, it's done.

Do you think a Tbolt RAID is worth it or will it not make much of a difference if I'm using my SSD for everything? I know that you should separate your applications from your media on separate drives, but will working from a Tbolt RAID make everything that much faster than if I just had everything on the SSD?
