yep, usually I color my hair space-grey ... LOL
Glad you like it ... the plugin, not my hair! - simple, but handy...
What's missing is 'reflections'/brighten the nearby enviroment, but that depends way too much on scenery and 'topographic'.... a vertical wall, plain floor (horizontal), 'rocks 'n stones', a face close-up etc etc ....
I just downloaded, and added a pinpoint light to it, and it works fine. Published parameters for both the light, and the drop zone, to adjust how much light is flashed, how reflective it is, etc. Also added the ability for it to conform to the shape of surrounding objects in the video. That part I borrowed from this tutorial, where you can add a Bump Map effect for lighting.

thanks for your suggestions - although I'm lost, and you forgot to apply/upload your modified version:
And How do you conform shapes in a 'generic' plugin? Your tutorial is about a project ,....
What I said:
very diff. situations, to reflect from a wall or the ground or a face... I can do that easy with a masked color-correction in FCPX, but as a feature in a plug-in?
Sorry about that, I rushed through that response, as I'm on the road with limited online time. Trying to save a production that is falling apart quickly. So, what I did, first I changed it to an Effect, rather than a generator, so I could have the Effect Source layer to apply the Bump Map to. And added a light inside the muzzle flash, so that it would reflect properly off of textures in the clip it was applied to. I did a quick experiment. Don't have a file to upload at the moment, as I am not keeping these experiments. Just throwing out ideas.
