Seeking FCPX Assistant Editor for ongoing projects.Welcome and thanks for reading. We are a growing production company that needs assistant editors to help streamline our postproduction workflow. You'll be working with our post supervisor and editors to help them effectively and efficiently tell stories through the art of editing. Our work ranges from commercials, documentaries, and corporate/ educational videos. There are many levels of an Assistant Editor and we consider this posting to be for those on the entry level side of that skill set. There is room to transition to senior assistant as well as editor roles for the right candidate.The most important qualities we seek in an assistant are those who can deliver on a fixed timeline and communicate their progress. Those who know how to ask for help. Those who understand that their role is important in the context of the bigger picture of the final video: what you do to prep setts up the video project for success.Responsibilities: Setting up project folders on the finder lever. Setting up libraries and footage in FCPX for our editors. Organizing and key-wording footage. Creating string outs for our editors. Communication with post supervisor and editors on task status.Skills required:

• Proficient in FCPX (at least 1 year)
• Effective and timely communication. (If you say you will complete a task by time/ date x, make sure that you do, or communicate early if there are issues/ questions).
• Bonus skill: Proficient using Postlab and Postlab drive.
• Bonus skill: Proficient using Posthaste
• Bonus skill: Proficient using Slack.
