Is there another way to simulate the Bokeh effect in FCPX that is easier or not so dependent on, as you say, crippling render times?
thanks

It is now possible to adjust the size, darkness, blur and amount of the vignette.
I ahve also added a new control for adjusting Horizontal Weave as well as the Vertical Jitter.
Thanks to everyone for your interest in this effect. Please let me know if you have any additional feature requests.
Also if you are looking for a different kind of "aged film" look do check out Alex 4D's excellent new plug-in published this week:

Iombie wrote: I'm new to this-- I have FCPX but not motion. Does this require FCPX and Motion to get it work?
See here for details of how to install this and other plug-ins, including how to do it if you don't have Motion installed:

Is this something I'm missing, or is it a known problem?
Thanks

corkyburger wrote: With the Super 8 plugin, everything works fine but I am unable to affect the dust level. Moving the slider has no effect on the image.
Here it is again with that issue fixed - there's also a control for the number of "hairs" which mght be useful.
Revisiting this feels like ancient history it's so long since I made it. If I knew then what I know now ...
