TKY Free FCPX "Graduated Filter" Effect NOW with Onscreen Control Version was created by Simon Ubsdell
I couldn't think of a particularly sexy description for this but essentially what it does is provide the equivalent of an ND Grad to the four edges of the image, so you can darken the image down, brighten it up, blur it, and/or tint it in those areas (left, right, top, bottom). (There's also a basic vignette option but this is not really what I had in mind for this effect.)
Obviously you can do a lot of this in the new color corrector now it's got masking abilities but I thought it would be handy to have in a quick effect where you don't have to think too much and still get a decent result - also you can't yet blur within the color corrector so it might be useful just for that.
And here's a new version using a different approach - the mask is now a 4-point shape controllable with onscreen controls, because everybbody seems to get excited about them
Actually this makes a lot more sense anyway as the interface was getting very cluttered with the various controls for the different zones, and it's a lot easier to adjust the mask to the image rather than with the numbers.
There should be a lot of potential uses, e.g. darkening down a burnt-out sky, blurring to simulate depth of field, or just "shaping" your image a bit.
Anyway, as usual your suggestions are much appreciated - and I hope this proves to be a bit more trouble-free than my last effort :S

Do check out this new version with onscreen controls - it's much more useful than the previous version.
I initially tried doing it with an 8-point mask instead of just a 4-point but I thought it became a bit fiddly - I'd be happy to do an 8-point version if anyone thinks this would be useful.
There are controls for:
- positioning of the four corners of the mask via onscreen controls;
- roundness, feather and fall-off of the mask;
- Brightness On/Off and Amount (for darkening or lightening the edges);
- Blur On/Off, amount and horizontal/vertical controls;
- Tiny On/Off, Tint color and intensity.
Any thoughts much appreciated as usual.

I love your plugin!
An 8 point mask version could make it even more subtle. If you do it, please make it switchable between 4 and 8 points.
Here's a video I used it in:

Hi Simon
I used the original one here vimeo.com/28258998 and the split screen for the title.
I will have to try the new one next!
Thank you again for your hard work!
Cheers
