Free FCPX Effect - TKY "Shatter" Split Screen was created by Simon Ubsdell
Since one can never have enough different split screen effects, here is a new one that might have its uses for a more dynamic look. (Note that a good way of getting even value out of this effect is to double it up - apply it to one clip and then use that affected clip as a drop zone source for another version.)
There are four layout options as above (selectable via a pop-up menu) and it's very simple to use with onscreen controls for positioning your source images as well as scaling them (use the outer circle for scaling and the inner control for positioning).
You can also adjust the border colour and width as well as turning it off altogether.
