Trying to transfer iMovie11 trailers into FCPX

I have several trailers that I made in iMovie11 that I have converted into projects. Now I am transferring them into FCPX. Transferring the projects is not the problem. Everything transfers exactly as they looked in iMovie... however all of the trailer templates (adventure, drama, romantic, comedy, etc) that I used do not transfer over to FCPX. Is there any way to make these iMovie11 trailer templates work in FCPX?

Have you tried to manually copy the templates over to the MOVIES/MOTION/TEMPLATES folder so FCPX has access to them? I believe I read that iMovie templates could be used in FCPX but I'm not positive.

Sorry. Tried that already. It just ignores them.

Rico,

The trailers are made in Quartz Composer - find the original files and then port them to FCPX using a product like FxFactory.

They need to be converted to Motion project files with the correct formating. CHV has a collection of these made up of Quartz Composer operations, and that collection comes with extensive information about making Quartz ino Motion stuff. Not to mention the CHV Quarts Composer collection is one of my 2 "must have" recommendations, along with CoreMelt V.2, for my students.
