HOW TO GET THE BEST SATURATION & CONTRAST WHILE EDITING (NOW) - ANY SUGGESTIONS - THANKS was created by Leonsmithnyc
I'm finishing up last min touch ups to 95% done project and the director of the film asked me to include some things such as..
- Grain - I've got that covered*
- A little Saturation & Contrast - Can anyone help direct me in the best way to play with these just a tad or a preset that would be standard & how to get to these options? ....(Still new to FCPx from FCP7)....
- How to add a more Orange feel to a shot (best option) I'm not that greatest at color correction.
THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE TONIGHT FORSURE - THANK YOU FAR IN ADVANCE!! :woohoo:

Hi,
If you would like to do some color corrections with the feeling from your sight, i would advise you Hawaiki Color : hawaiki.co
I am not working for them but i just like the way you can have the original footage and see the changes in the same time with some wheels on your screen to adjust your settings.
You can try it out before you buy but it worth the 49$.
Hope that will help you.

Use the Color Board - select a clip and in the Inspector near the top find Correction 1. Click the right pointing arrow at the far right of that line.
In the Color Board there are three tabs at the top. Click Exposure. At the bottom right is a presets drop down (and there is one for Contrast), but you can also manually change Global (the largest one), Shadow, Mid, or Highlight buttons (often called pucks). I recommend turning on the scope for Waveform Luma to help guide you in this.
Then go to the Saturation tab and you have the same four pucks.
Orange feel? Assuming you mean globally, go to the Color tab and find the Global puck. Slide it left to the orange area, then drag up to increase the orange or down to decrease. You can also click on the numbers below the board and drag them instead of actually dragging the pucks. Dragging the degree number moves the puck left or right, the percentage number moves the puck up and down. I especially like dragging that degree number to help fine tune the color change - you can use it to move your "orange" tint to more red or more yellow.
I hope this is at least enough to get you started.
