Hi Guys,
Yesterday a new Season of Top Gear aired on the BBC2.
And since I love the style Top gear uses in the final montage, I would like to know how they made this.
The had an Splitscreen running whit different shots in the Splitscreen but than the line of the splitscreen slided to the left out of the screen making a full shot.
Does anyone knows how to get this effect.
An splitscreen ist that hard but how to make the line dissapear to one side of the screen.
Hope someone can help

Hi Danny,
there are several plug-ins out there that can easily create split-screens and your desired effect.
If you want to build it yourself, a rather simple way would be to first create the split screen by putting one clip in the timeline and the other clip as a connected clip. Crop the clips as desired. Then put a black generator on top (this is the line between the clips) and crop as desired.
You can now keyframe both the position of the line and the cropping of the clip you want to turn into fullscreen - so slide the line off the screen and at the same time uncrop the clip.
Good luck!
