I'm looking to learn how to create behaviors and filters in Motion 5. Does anyone have any recommendations on online tutorials on how to do this?

C++ programming for behaviors.
FXPlug and/or Quartz Composer for filters.
What specific behaviors and filters do you need that aren't there?

Ah, ok, so you want to create custom transitions. That's not behaviors or filters.
Launch Motion 5, from the Template Browser choose "Final Cut Transition". This brings up the FCPX transition template you build from. When you save, it will be saved as an FCP X transition, and stored in the Motion Templates folder for Transitions for FCP X can access it. You can zip up it's folder to share with others.
If you want to do more complex stuff, FXPlug and Quartz Composer.

Thank you. What I was looking to do was understand how the Origami transition was built. This looks like it has a library behavior associated with it. How do you create the items in the library?

I'd assume that was done with Quartz Composer. If you want to learn to do some amazing effects, learn QC.
But, I guess you could do it with clone layers, shape masks, groupings, and anchor points.
