Animating Text In Motion

This is a FREE, short, four part series that will take you from simple to complex tools.

Part 1 - Anchor Points
Animating text in Motion is pretty easy to do. In this first installment I’ll cover the most basic way to animate text, and that is using Anchor Points. This can help do more than just spin it around an axis! I’m assuming you are familiar enough with Motion to create groups, shapes and text layers.

Part 2 - Paths
Looking at animating text along geometric paths. Bear in mind that all of the techniques in this series can be used in conjunction with each other to create some very complex effects.

Part 3 - Sequence Text
The Sequence Text behavior is easy to use. In a nutshell, you animate the first letter, or glyph as they’re called in typography. Then as the behavior plays, all the other letters follow along that same animation. It’s quite easy, but has a TONS of control and possibilities built right in to it.

Part 4 - Particle Text
In this final installment of our 4 part series, I’ll show you how to use a Particle Emitter with text. As in the previous 3 lessons, don’t focus on only the trick, but also on the individual tools used to achieve it. They can be used to achieve so much else if you get creative with them.
