I would like to find plugin for zoom and focus effect. It is quite easy make with camera, but do you know the plugins for that effect? I am actually looking for the effect which zoom very fast and then find the focus to some detail. Like this, but I would not like to have those binoculars templates on the video.
I am also looking for this kind of effect for FCPX (lens blur filter) which simulate focusing: www.borisfx.com/units/LensBlur.php
Thanks for help! There is a lot of good info in this forum.

The problem with zooming in post as opposed to doing it with lenses, is that you're zooming in on recorded pixels. There's only so much of that you can do. If you zoom in 5 or 10% you might get away with it, much more & your picture quality will be deteriorating rapidly, so if you sharpen or focus that it's going to look even worse. Blurring & sharpening in post is much easier, there are various plugins available free on this site which will suit your purposes.
If you need a zoom of considerable percentage, a fast zoom has to be done during shooting with a zoom lens. There's a technique I've seen used in cinema lately which I thought to be quite effective. That is a rapid zoom but only a small percentage of image enlargement. They use it a few times in the recent movie End Of Watch . The entire film has a very handheld feel, as they're trying to make it look like the whole thing was shot on camcorders. Sometimes we'll be in a medium two shot, or even a closeup, & the frame will jump zoom about 5 to 10% in, usually on a key line of dialogue or suspenseful moment. I like the effect & hadn't seen it used this way before.
You can do that effect smoothly with Alex4D's free effect here . (He calls it Grow Shrink Over Clip Duration or some other verbose counter marketing configuration of extra verbiage, but ... it's a great effect! I recommend it often. AND it's free, be sure & thank him for that.)
My only other suggestion for getting a greater than 10% zoom in post, is to shoot in 1080, but set your project to be 720, then you've got a bit more wiggle room. Still you're going to run into picture degradation pretty quick.
Aren't we subjected to enough degrading material?

Thanks for your good message! Yes, I just thought to shoot in 1080 or bigger and then set the project 720. I may then use zoom effect better. I visited in Alex4D's site and there is a lot of good stuff. Thanks for the tip! Now I will make some practise with these new tips.
