Yes, there's one just like it for the FCP X level 1 certification exam, also. Be aware these are the same questions that are in the back of each lesson of the book the test comes directly from. "Apple Pro Training Series: Motion 5". That book is the test, the test is that book. The PDF makes it easier to review the practice questions from the book. But trust me, the actual test is a bit tougher than those specific questions. ;)

I'm glad I found this thread because I want to take my certification exam for Motion 5 next month. I am going through Mark Spencer's book as thoroughly as possible. I do have some questions about the exam thou...

1. Do you need to know shortcut keys?
2. Do I need to do more than Mark's book?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Chris

1- I don't remember, not a lot, Apple has really scaled back on asking about shortcuts as opposed to past tests. Know what you can, but don't sweat shortcuts. Know the common, most used ones, I guess.

2- No, the "Apple Pro Training Series: Motion 5" book IS the test, literally. The test IS the book, literally. Apple puts out the book for us trainers to teach from in Apple Authorized Trainings. It is the official book. The test is word for word that book. And the test is tough, too. Lots of details, details, details. Know that book super well! Seriously, it is a tough exam. But if you do that book cover to cover 2 or 3 times, you should be good to go.

No other training/tutorial source helps, as they may use terms, techniques, etc, that are not word for word the official book. The test is literally the book, period. Stick to the book, the terms, the techniques, the workflows, etc. Word for word.

I'm going to have to disagree. I've given that test to students many times, and there is not any question that is not in the book. I've heard students make that claim after taking the test, but I've always been able to show where that information is in the book.

Skimming the user manual won't hurt, could reinforce necessary information.

The T3 trainers test is the book, user manual, KB docs, industry standards. But the Pro User test is 100% from the book.

If there are questions you encountered on the test, that you think are not in the book, please PM me with them (as a trainer I'm not allowed to discuss specific questions publicly), I'd like to check it out.

Thanks again for the responses. I am going thru each chapter, taking notes and making sure I understand the projects. I was wondering if there are any practice tests out there to take. I ran across a site called "Testslive" and they say they offer this, has anyone heard of them?

No clue. Roll the dice, take your chances.

My take on it? $99 is steep, and for the time you'll spend playing with it, you could spend that time with the book and user manual, and probably learn just as much. But that's just my opinion, I have no clue if they're reputable or quality. I'll ask some other trainers, though.

Well I do remember someone in the Motion 4 bringing up a question and it was not mentioned in the book.

Here is a Prep for Motion 5 exam.
