split Screen: How to Keyframe x,y Position of drop zones 25 Dec 2020 18:34 #111724

Hi folks,

I am new here and before I start asking stupid questions, I want to say hello to everybody and express my gratitude for having found this great forum.

Now the issue I am facing: I have made a split screen generator in Motion 5 for use in FCPX. I made it by using two groups with a drop zone each and mask. I have published x,y position and scaling which allows me to initially adjust the position and the scaling of the footage after I added it to the drop zones in FCPX. However I cannot keyframe those positions and therefore I cannot adjust for camera movement etc.

Hope the description is understandable, for better clarification I add the generator file.

Any idea how I can "add" the keyframes?

Many thanks for some help....

Klaus

If you select a Drop Zone, look at the Inspector's Image tab, you can not keyframe it at all. So, no, can't keyframe it at all, much less not publish keyframing for these parameters.

Hi, it is possible - see attached, I just publish position and scale, these can be keyframed - very odd!

Ah, my bad, in my image I didn't notice they were already published. Yes, you can publish them.
