Key Frames changing in FCPX Generator was created by graham.bayley
Hi All
Say Ive produced a Motion 5 'Generator' for FCPX thats 10 seconds long and within the generator at keyframe 25 I move an object from Pos 1 to Pos 2 on screen by keyframe 50. All is good and works well in Motion.
I then save that and open the 10 Second Generator in FCPX but i dont want the duration to be 10 Seconds, I want it to be 20.
What then happens is the the 'move' of the object then STARTS to frame 50 and now lasts for 50 Frames and ends at 100 ....
Question: How do i keep the original timing but be able to extend the Generator, or am i doing this the wrong way ?
Thanks !
Graham

hmm, that is a tricky one - because animations are 'tic'/time-based, so when you stretch time , you stretch the duration of animations either.
What comes to mind are some tricks, see attached demo… the clone of the original animation gets a Speed-Behaviour, and when the generator is stretched to double is length, the 200% keeps the original timing.
… but what if I stretch the generator by 45.6%?
What you can make mandatory in timing are built-in and built-out, but not single layers of the generators…

You've done it again
The Marker and 'Build-in' option was the right way to go, so I set Build-in @frame 100, now from frames 0-100 it does all the setup no matter how long the generator is made and from frames 100-X the generator just runs
Big thanks!
Graham
