Motion 5 models to animate was created by Schwalbach
Hi,
Where can I find Motion5 models to animate?
I am just starting to study animation in Motion and would like to try it with already build characters and objects.
Any websites where I can download or buy?
Thanks

By 'models' I'm assuming you mean 3D models. Motions in-built 3D capabilities are currently restricted to font based glyphs as it is primarily intended for creating 3D text.
Of course, there are lots of non-letter based glyphs and if you're creative you can build certain kinds of objects in 3D using dingbats etc.
If you want to load proper premade 3D models then you will need to extend Motions capabilities by purchasing something like MotionVFX's mObject. mObject has some inbuilt models including a range of primitives and they have a range of model packs to purchase as well. Other models are available out there in .obj format from many sites, Turbosquid springs to mind but there are many others. Just Google '3D models' and look for .obj format files.

Thank you Steve.
I didn't mean exclusively 3D models. Also 2D.
Instead of having to build myself, is there a place to download (either free or for sale) objects to animate such as people, animals, plants, cars etc?
For instance, if I wanted to create a story with pre-built characters, where do I start?
Thanks

Only Motion-based, character animation stuff which comes to mind is
www.motionvfx.com/mplugs-52.html
Question is:
What to learn?
To study ' Disney's 12 Basic Rules of Animation ' you can use Motion, for sure, paint two squares and learn.
The second, you're starting with 'charcters', even a simple Luxo-lamp, you're looking for tools like Reverse Kinetics and such.... which doesn't exist in Motion. And without it, even a walking stencil-man gets a huge project (yes, fox et al - you can 'attach' anchor points, you can group into groups into... you can ... but that is ... tinkering)
for a solid foundation, I would start with BLENDER ... still a crazy interface (ok, much better than 5y ago), but teaches you everything one can know about animation. And it's free, if that isn't crazy enough..... there is a global community of Blenderfans, who are willing to share, tons of books, videos, tutorials, sites ....
But e.g. a 'marionette' in Motion5? I'm a confessing Motion fan but that is… [strike]quak[/strike] wasting energy, lifetime, grey matter..

Simon Ubsdell at Tokyo productions created this to assist in the process of 2D animation within Motion:
You can download the project for free i understand.
Project: tokyo-uk.com/fcpxeffects/freed ...[/color]
While these below won't teach you about animation per se, these tools will help you achieve 2D animations in Motion quickly and effortlessly:
MotionVFX:
mDoodle: www.motionvfx.com/mplugs-110.html
mForm: www.motionvfx.com/mplugs-88.html
mCharacter: www.motionvfx.com/mplugs-52.html
mCharacter2: www.motionvfx.com/mplugs-67.html

Comicpop: stupidraisins.com/comic-pop-final-cut-pr...omic-book-animations
For 3D
MotionVFX:

Model Packs: www.motionvfx.com/mplugs-40.html
Hope this helps.

Nothing wrong with a bit of tinkering and tweaking. You should have a dabble at it.

I guess, as no-budget hobbyist, 99% of what I'm doing is tinkering and butchering LOL
