Retiming with drawn shapes and behaviors

After reading the Motion 5 manual, I understand that there are differences between how to retime movie/image layers versus objects.

I'm still confused on how to retime and make my own project shorter.

I have three main groups: company logo, a glow across part of the logo, and a lens flare created in motion with shapes, replicators and a couple behaviors (spin, grow and shrink, and motion path (key framed).

I would like the whole project shorter than the designated 10 seconds, and when I trimmed the ends I lost the completed motion path on the lens flare, and the grow/shrink behavior was lost entirely.

Adjusting out points and duration under timing in the properties inspector snapped the project back to original points without maintaining adjustments.

I am new to Motion and animation so the answer is probably obvious, I just really need help!

Thanks!

You'll have to manually move the effects, adjust durations, move keyframes, etc, to do that. There is no "auto-retime" to fit objects into a new duration like that.

1. try to move all groups to one "root" group and make clone layer of "root" group.
2. disable "root" and work only with new clone layer.
3. try to retime clone layer. B)
