Plugins not showing Motion 5

Hi downloaded a few free generator plugins. They are visible and working in FCPX but not in Motion. I then downloaded some other free filter plugins and they too are not showing up in Motion. From what I can see they are being saved in motion templates.

is it just a case of finding them through the file browser and using them that way.

Exactly what plugins did you download?

Many are FCPX only. If you install them into the Motion Templates folder, they are FCPX only. As they are specialized Motion project files, not actual "plugins".

It was a website something like motion-tutorials.net or something. There were two downloads for each effect one for fcp and one for motion. Its not the end of the world I can find it in the file browser and open it that way. Its appears to be a motion project file and is fully customisable so maybe that is why.

Did you try to open it in Motion from within FCP?

If you can open it as a Motion Project, then it is not a "plugin", but simply a Motion project file to be used as a template. The author may have not used the proper jargon to describe it. Plugin and project template file are two very different things.
