Motion 5 pie chart/simple graphs was created by boug
I'm new to motion and FCPX... I'd like to create similar graphics as the ones depicted at 1:01 and 1:36 in the video below.
www.winningbeginningny.org/video/its_our_business.php
Can this simple graphic be done with just Motion 5? I have looked for similar templates and have only found one; does anyone have a link to a simple set of statistics/graphing/chart template package for Motion 5?
Thanks for any an all help!

They're just simple shapes, keyframed for animation. If you know the basics of Motion, you should be able to create them from scratch.

You might take a look at this video... I was looking for the same thing, and it had a lot of great info.

As far as I recall there are also some charts in the Motion library which you may be able to tailor to your needs.

what apple needs to do is bring keynote graphs into motion. Why not have them talk to each other, it seems like the software is there.

Simple pie charts (2 color) are pretty easy to do in Motion.
Draw a vertical or horizontal line (hold the shift key while drawing a Line)
Set the Anchor Point to one end of the line
Replicate
Set the Replicator Shape to Circle
Set the Arrangement to Outline
Set the Radius to 0.1 [setting to 0.0 will not work... ]
Set Align Angle (checkbox)
Add as many Points as you need to make a solid circle (> 360 -- doesn't matter -- coloring is by percent)
[You can change the "animation" direction with the Build Style -- for later...]
Set the Color Mode to Over Pattern
Open the Color Gradient (disclosure triangle)
Click the 1st color square and set the Interpolation to Constant
Click the 2nd color square and do the same
Pick your colors.
Slide the right (2nd) color square to the left. You will see the "Pie chart" in action.
With the 2nd color square selected, right click on Location and Add Parameter Behavior > Link
Create a Number generator [Generators > Text Generators > Numbers
In the Text Generator pane in the Inspector, uncheck animate
Click back on the Cell of the Replicator (originally called Line if you didn't change Motion's defaults)
Click on the Behaviors tab and drag the Numbers generator layer into the Source Object
Animate the Numbers Value to control the pie chart.
You can set the Numbers appearance with the Format and Style panes in the inspector when Numbers is selected.

The latest Mac Break Studio has this pie chart effect. Actually super easy to do. Look at the setting Mark Spencer has for his replicator. Super simple!
Shift-drag the line tool to make a vertical line.
Set Last Point Offset to 50.
"L" to make it a Replicator.
F4 to it's Inspector section.
Shape - Line, All start and end points to 0, Points to 300.
Adjust with the Angle End control.
Extrude filter adds a nice touch to it, also.
Also, Command-D to duplicate the Replicator. Make the original bottom one a full circle. Then use the new top one as your chart (change it's color, set Color Mode to Colorize).
Download this Motion project file to see how I did it. I even Rigged the chart percentage and angle.

Agree with Ben. Latest Mac Break Studio on Motion was excellent and really useful, as they usually are. I'd add that all those people who keep asking for more advanced motion graphics in FCPX need to buy the super cheap Motion and learn it. You will not regret it.
