I have made a wipe effect in Motion 5. To allow a FCPX user to choose the direction that the wipe travels in, I've rigged it using a separate pop-up for each direction.
This all works fine. The problem I'm having is with things in my project that I have published. These parameters are not different in the various pop-up states. Also, I can adjust them inside Motion 5.
In FCPX, these parameters will not allow me adjust or change them. I can see them in the inspector.
Also, they work in the default state that the transition effect first uses. So the problem only occurs when a new pop-up state is chosen by the fcpx user.
Has anyone else seen a problem where published parameters will only allow adjustments to be made in FCPX for one Pop Up Rig out of many?
This is a real head-scratcher.

Specifically what parameter, of what sort of layer, are you trying to rig?

To give more detail:
I have 8 states for my pop-up rig- each representing a different direction of travel for wiping off my transition placeholder layer A. The wipe is done using a layer mask. For each state of the rig, the mask is animated in a different direction.
The rigging works as I wish.
The problem is with parameters I wanted to publish that really shouldn't have anything to do with the functioning of the rig. The parameters are for a hue/saturation filter applied to the outgoing place holder.
When I look at the Project layer in my Layers pane, and then go to the inspector to look at published parameters, I see that the parameters that are acting weird in FCPX are all flagged as being part of my rigging.
If I changed the value for this parameter while I was setting up my rig states, would this cause a conflict?
