effects portability

effects portability was created by parkerhqj
I've added borders to photos on a project and then copied over the project and event to another drive, Then when I opened the project on another computer, the borders were listed as missing effects. I'm assuming that means my effects are located on my boot drive. Is there a way to have all my effects (& custom templates, etc) on my edit drive? I would like to be able to copy over the event and project and have it open perfectly on another computer. There must be a preference setting that enables me to do this. thx

There is no preference setting for copying over effects with all the required project files.
Spherico's Motion Template Tool can help.
If you export an XML version of your project and MTT can analyse it and then create a custom installer of the effects used. You can then include the installer with the project for use on different Macs.
