In the Window menu there is a selectable item called Final Cut Pro. What does it it actually do? It seems to let you switch between windows like preferences and the main window, but the skimmer does that as well. I can't see any purpose for it. Anybody know what it's supposed to do?

Thanks.

It just makes the main Windows (Final Cut Pro) active.
Open up the Background Tasks and make sure the window is selected then (the three colored buttons will be grayed out) , go back into the Windows menu and you will see it is unchecked select Final Cut Pro in the Window menu and it be active again.

Who knows maybe we will see a room option in 10.1.0? ;)

The Compressor 4.03 update has this:

". Ability to run Compressor as an encoding node on a Mac without a monitor"

I wonder if somethings going somewhere with this.

Not sure if I understand what this has to do with window option nor to run Compressor with no Monitor... :silly:

Just wondering if a "Compressor", or new flavour, option could appear in there at some point. It obviously needs an update, at least for the GUI, and this encoding node doesn't look like a minor update, perhaps more of a first step.

I'm wondering if they are taking it further in version 4 ready to scrap it when featured to fit.

Could be... but could go in the direction of having Mac minis as encoding clusters?
And Mac Pros!!! :woohoo:

That's exactly what I thought when I first read it, for both the mini's and the pro's.
