I do have a 30 sec commercial to cut next week, and think I might give it a try on this. Its not long, but is for broadcast so will be interesting to see how i go.
I really want to see what the integration is like with Motion (I really hope they release that as well) and how it handles pro res 4444's from C4d. Motion had a bug with my Kona 3 that stopped it seeing alpha channels that was very annoying.
Anyway that's me, what about you?

As mentioned in another post here, I will through a project at it and we will work with both versions X and 7.
A new Motion would rock let's hope we will see some cool shake features! Morphing, oh yeah!
I do dig the dark interface ala Nuke or After Effects!

Working with some 5D footage; really want to see the pluraleyes like function, the adjustments when importing, such as the rolling shutter correction and shot matching. It would be great to import an LUT straight into FCP without needing any plugins.

The first think what I am going to check is trim tools. Believe or not,I don't like (until now)
the feature " precision editor". I want to see how the old trim tools (S,SS,R,RR,etc) will work in fcp x.
they didn't tell us nothing about it...

yeah i have a BTS clip for the
T_Rec's guys
waiting for me to be edited for a lil while now ... would be a nice first "test" project ... i have mixed footage (DSLR 1080p 25fps, 720p 60fps ... and some iphone 720p30 stuff... ) so yeah that is going to be a real-life test ... some other 2-3 min trailer stuff could be done with it as well (more like short Best of's from a finished 10min project)
... so actually there are a lot of small projects i can run some tests with footage i'v worked on in FCP 7 already, so i can have a bit of a comparison)

like christian, some of the more fundamental things will be first on my list. i need to know how long its going to take me to learn to share a canvas between the browser and the timeline, and whether i can even conceive of editing that way. new nifty features aren't worth it, if i can't make good cuts with it.

so when could we see this? tomorrow? Thursday?
Its motion i am most curious about. would love to see a 3D tracker in that - that could really open it up to some more exciting stuff.

Definitely keyboard shortcuts, but I'm also interested in I/O like XML, EDLs, OMFs, some of that stuff. Also have to figure out mentally how to deal with a single viewer/canvas window and whether you can work in a 'classic' layout if you want.

I really want to see if my Matrox hardware is supported. I will be really upset if I can't monitor my color corrections in FCPX. I have a small project with no deadline that I will play with on it.

First thing for me might be to try and wrap my little mind around the lack of distinct tracks in the timeline, particularly for audio.
Its a brave new world, I guess.

Gonna start poking around in the prefs and menus and see what's lurking back there that we haven't seen yet. Keyboard layout, throw random clips of various rez and codec like H.264, mp4, R3D, prores and see what happens.
