Convert or display HDR clips as SDR in Browser?

This is an interesting one. Does anyone know of a way to change HDR clips in the browser to display as tone mapped?

I have a new client who shoots everything on their iPhone 13's. Most of the footage is shot in HDR. Some is not. We are using KYNO as asset management to tag and categorise over 16,000 clips. Then we export xml to fcp and it brings the tagged metadata. works well. However Kyno doesn't seem to be able to send an XML with HDR colour info. So in an HDR library, we get the "Different colour processing mode than the library" dialogue box. In an SDR library, no warning. However in both instances, the clips are displayed in the browser as you would expect... appearing over exposed.

Does anyone know of a workaround to get them to display correctly in the browser? Ive tried copying from library to library. Converting clips to SDR once in the timeline is fine and easy, but trying to find a clip in the browser is nearly impossible.

So I worked it out!! Sort of. In case anyone else discovers a similar workflow issue.
If you change the colour space override to Rec 2020 HLG, that changes its appearance in both the browser and the thumbnail in the timeline to appear normal which means you can actually see what is happening in the footage when scrubbing through the browser. Then you still need to add the HDR tool as an effect which you have to do anyway, once its down on the timeline. Saved a lot of hassle and wasted time. The only reason I didn't take this approach earlier is Mark Spencer in one of his videos recommends against this approach because it doesn't look the same. But in this way it really does.
