I'm puzzled but I never noticed this before.
is the override connections shortcut not suppose to work with captions?
I just noticed now and thought it was odd but maybe it has always been so, anyone can confirm?
thanks

I can confirm that with "override connections" active the caption(s) move with the clips in the primary storyline. macOS 12.3.1, FCP 10.6.2, Intel.

Yes. It might be a bug, because when you first drag the clip with the grave key the caption appears to detach and only catches up later. Of course this might be by design, the assumption being the captions are really only relevant to the speech in a specific clip.

BTW it's like this back in 10.4.10, so I guess it's always been there.

It may be as I mentioned I have never noticed it. But since there is a "override connections" shortcut it seem logic to use with captions, I guess. Thank you for confirming.
