I love the new Dupe Detection feature. But, I'm finding it doesn't work with clips that have any speed changes on them. For example, drop a clip to your timeline. Change it's speed to 50%. Now duplicate that clip (with the exact same speed change) and neither will show up as a Dupe.

That’s correct. It’s in Apple’s version information. Dupe Detection doesn’t work on any retimed clip.

This Apple support page verifies that retimed clips don't work with the dupe detection feature introduced in FCP 10.6.2:
Apple Support: Dupe Detection and Retimed Clips

Cool. I didn't see that. Thanks for the confirmation. Maybe it's something that will work in a future update.

Had The French Connection been edited on this version of FCP you wouldn't have to come across this scene twice.
(From IMDB)
When Doyle and Russo arrive at the scene of an accident with their Supervisor and Federal Agent, they attempt to persuade their supervisor to keep them on the case. A shot of a deceased woman is shown when she is taken out of the wreckage prior to Doyle's and Russo's arrival and the exact same shot is re-played after they arrive on scene.
