Been experiencing waveform generation delays? 10.6.2 contains a fix.

I am still testing, but early indications are promising. If you upgrade, please let me know your experience, as I am in contact with someone on the Final Cut Pro development team.

Update: It works. The dark days are behind us.

Backstory: I filed feedback regarding the issue and someone got in touch shortly thereafter. Earlier today, that same someone reached out to let me know that 10.6.2 was available and that it should contain a fix. They asked for confirmation.

100% fixed for me..
BUT.. now I have lost access to having custom sounds added in the sounds library.. Call him back!

If you haven't already done so, I suggest submitting feedback. I thought it all went to a black hole, but apparently there's a guy named Chris on the other end, and he is plugged in.

Haven't upgraded yet. Can you please clarify "custom sounds"? Do you mean stock music and 3rd party sound FX?

I'm referring to my own music/sound effects that I have manually added into the FCP Sound Effects library.. 
It turns out that since the update ONLY .CAF files are visible in the effects browser - .WAV, .AIF, .MP3 have all vanished/are no longer accessible.. You can still add these files to projects in other ways but if manually added them into the effects browser, they are gone for many people - there is another thread about it here.
