Recommendations For Free Keyer Plugins? was created by KantoKairyu
I want to use a keyer aside from the in-built one provided.
I want to do this because my hair is quite frizzy and when using my current greenscreen setup the fuzzier parts of my hair often end up with a green outline regardless of settings.
I have tried using the Hawaiki keyer's free trial and while it worked great it also did cost 99 dollars and I wasn't really willing to pay that price for a keyer without seeing if other users have any recommended free alternatives
I know there's no such thing as a keyer that will instantly make a clip look great, but nevertheless I was hoping to ask if you guys had any recommendations for a good free, or even low-price keyer?

Don’t expect a free keyer to be better than the one in FCP. Have you had any training on the FCP keyer? Take a look at this three video series on YT. The videos are older but the keyer is essentially the same. Frizzy hair is difficult but it can done. I find the chroma keyer in FCP to be drag-drop-done. I don’t need to spend any significant time tweaking. Most of my chromakeying is done with 3 lights. People make it out to be more difficult than it is. Depends how complex your subject is. Proper training is the “key”.
