Older Sony mp.4 not visible on the timeline, any ideas?

Hello group, trying to help a friend out. She provided me some sample files from an older Sony PMW-EX3 XDCAM (shot last week) I can play the files generically but if I add to my timeline, there is nothing just a black line. I wondering if anyone has an idea, I have the last provideo apple update and I'm running os11 and fcp 10.6.1 looked for a sony plugin but none since 2012.

Thank you, in advance.
