An HDR Tools type plugin that will work on 10.4.1 was created by NoizyGeoff

I'm trying to fix some very over-exposed footage (stage lighting on faces) and it appears that the FCP X HDR tools wasn't released as standard until after the version I have (10.4 onwards I think)
Can anyone suggest a fix or a 3rd party plug in that will work with 10.4.1?
Running Mavericks 10.9.5 OS.
Many thanks
