Since the 10.6 update I've been fighting with constant crashing, slow waveforms, and lonnggg pauses when cutting clips.. But today as part of my normal troubleshooting routine, I decided to remove all of my 3rd party effects - I didnt have many, just some transitions and a few audio-effects (CrumplePop Denoise2 was my biggest suspect) - but I removed everything, rebooted, crossed my fingers, faced-east, and started a new project, exactly the same as all of my previous projects....

and so far: SUCCESS! NO crashes, NO long pauses after cuts, and NO more waiting forever for audio-waveforms!

...might be worth trying if you are as desperate as I was....

..running 10.6 on Monterey .. had no issues until the 10.6 update....

I was just about to comment on the other thread that my issues have gone away as well. In my 2015 base MBP cutting based on waveforms is again quick and smooth.

I did not change anything on my system, and as far as I can tell, there have been no updates (FCP is still 10.6). I'm not aware of any system updates although it could have been something outside of FCP that was causing trouble.

Regardless, I'm super happy I can edit smoothly again!

I don't know if that workaround is an actual "fix". But you did find a workaround, live without all your third party add-ons. Not something I'm able to do. I've been working on 4 different TV shows for days, still have waveform issues all over the place.

I have found that on 'new' projects things seem ok, but any projects that were created before 10.6 are having constant problem still. We need a bug fix and and we need it yesterday...

I take it all back..
Today while working on a new project and trying to adjust/keyframe audio levels, Final Cut Pro crashed 16 times over a period of 15 minutes.
Final Cut Pro is now nearly useless to me.

Our studio is having the same issue on one of our machines. As part of our trouble shooting I had our editor disconnect his airpods he was using. This seemed to dramatically reduce the number of crashes. It still crashes occasionally but not like it was when he was using AirPods.

Just throwing this out there :)

I use AirPods, no issues, but some of my colleagues do. It's a good troubleshooting move to disconnect them.
