FCP is not the performance king on Apple Silicon?

With all the M1 pro / M1 Max hype this week, a somewhat strange pattern is emerging from all the testing tech reviewers and youtubers are doing: Not only does Davinci Resolve export and render faster than FCP on the new computers, but even Premiere has overtaken FCP in many instances. Davinci had been making a lot of performance gains even before Apple Silicon, but now it seems to be cemented as 15-20% faster than the "native" Final Cut.
Isn't this a bit strange, seeing as how the FCP team should have unparalleled access to these new CPU's and the new computer architecture as it is developed? Anyone got explanations for this? Are Apple just not putting a lot of resources into Final Cut these days, considering it a "mature" product?

Apple has let FCP and the pro apps go somewhat stagnant for awhile now.

depends on the bubble you're in.
Just recently watched Marques' review - he's more than excited about M1 in general and FCP's performance in detail....... (love his 'mobile iMac' solution LOL, which is now obsolete)
But for sure, you generate more clicks, posting 'bad' news, esp. in combo with 'Apple'.-

Comparing FCP to FCP isn't the point here. I'd like to see the actual comparisons the OP states about FCP compared to other NLEs. I'd love to see Barefeats publish such a test on rendering, export, etc. And no, the new M1 class of chips are not the ultimate speed demons universally, they are for specific types of work. I know folks like Iain Anderson will tell you for heavy 3D modeling work, they probably don't beat out a max'ed out iMac Pro that much. M1 class clips are impressive, but not universally superior. FCP is nice, I use it and like it (mostly), but it's not as popular as other NLEs. Take it all with a dose or reality and a grain of salt.

I don't think it's really a matter of anyone fishing for attention/clicks – the stories about the M1 Pro/Max are overwhelmingly positive across the board, and FCP performance on the new chips is hardly the headline issue for most reviewers. It just so happens that the people who do make comparisons between the available NLE's are all surprised that FCP is at the bottom of the pack nowadays – when it used to lead.
Personally I choose FCP for it's workflow, interface and metadata approach, not the performance – but it's still strange that they've lost that edge on their own hardware.

Could you all please share some links with those comparisons. Would be great to have a look at the numbers.
