How do I transfer clips from iMovie to FCP?

I have a massive video, 9 hours, which is made up from dozens of digitized clips.

I imported it to FCP but I only got the project not the clips in the media window.

Am I missing anything or is there a way to get the original, including the unused clips, from the iMovie media library into FCP?

Select the event with the media and use File >Send Event to Final Cut Pro.
