So I just got FCPX and it's a learning curve to say the least. Is there an option like iMovie where you can switch between projects you are working on? I, somehow, removed what I was doing on the timeline to start a different project but I thought I was able to just go back and forth to work on different videos at different times.
If someone could explain to make it really simple to understand that would be great haha.

Hi Willy, welcome to the forums... and to Final Cut Pro (-:
There are different ways to switch projects in FCP. But the simplest one is to disclose the Smart Collections triangle under the Library and select Projects. This will show you every project that you have in the Library.
You also can use the left and right arrows under the viewer to navigate between projects. I would absolutely advise you to watch some basic training videos for FCP.

Thanks so much for the quick reply and the welcome. I am really excited to learn and be apart of this community.
Would you have any suggestions on where to start the basics of FCPX? I've watched a few YouTube videos but if there are some that others may recommend it would be appreciated.

There's only so much you can learn with Youtube videos. A real training program that takes you from the very basics to the very deep (and FCP can go really deep) is the best way to move forward. I often advise Ripple Training. Their tutorials are really easy to follow and Steve and Mark are often on these forums as well:

And once you know the basics, we are always here to assist you with any further questions you may have!

macProVideo also has great FCP training by Iain Anderson, and currently 50% discount.

Indeed, Iain is a great trainer. He has also released an excellent training book for Final Cut Pro because not everyone learns the same way. As Iain said: "Online video isn’t perfect, as it moves at the speed of the presenter rather than the student, and that could easily be too fast or too slow. YouTube can be good for answering specific questions, but short videos don’t usually give a complete picture of the software."
So, if you prefer more detailed training at your own pace, this might be for you (and the first chapter is free for evaluation):
