TOPIC:

Multiple copies of a project ??? 02 Mar 2021 05:12 #113012

Today I was reworking an old video and when I shared it to a file, uploaded and played it, it was not the rework version. One of the things that I deleted was the atmosphere ending.

When I reopened the project I see multiple projects all done on the same day. I was under the impression that FCP saves it as you go along. I did not create any snapshots.

I assume that I can delete the unwanted projects. How and why did these get created in the first place?

I am just getting back into video and I do not recall seeing this on previous projects.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rich

Command-D duplicates a project and will assign a consecutive number after it. You may have hit that meaning to use some other shortcut. I've never seen a bug in FCP that does this.

Thanks Ben
That explains it. I used control d a lot to shorten duration and no doubt fat fingered it a few times.

Opt-D shortens durations by default.
