TrackX by Coremelt.

Or the native tracker inside Motion.

you can color in shapes in trackx? i can't find how to do it like this, and feels like it might get super complicated? i don't have motion, i used drivex to make shape outline, but i wanted to shade it in, and put labels/parameters on it

I'd seriously do this in Motion. You have more tools and options for this sort of thing. With TrackX you'd draw your shape, etc, with built-in tools, then track it with TrackX. But if I had this assignment, I'd do it in Motion, not in FCPX.

Thank you very much, would it be hard/take a while to learn?

Ripple Training has the best Motion training by far, and if you take some of those lessons, you'll be up and running quickly.
